Exercise Pitch Black 26 (PB26) is the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) biennial capstone, international air combat exercise with participating nations from a range of regional and allied partners.
Held between 20 July and 07 August 2026, PB26 took place in Northern Australia, with participants flying from RAAF Bases Darwin, Tindal, and Amberley. PB26 is the 
premier air power exercise in the region that strengthens global partnerships and sharpens the readiness of partner nations through integrated training and deeper cultural ties.
The Malaysia Australia Joint Defence Programme (MAJDP) was pleased to support the participation of 15 officers from Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) to RAAF Base Darwin, contributing to this premier international training event.
This year’s exercise also marked a proud milestone for the Malaysia Australia Defence Alumni Association (M-ADAA), with alumnus,
Major Mohd Fahrur Redzuwan, RMAF Officer-in-Charge (MPOU-A7), receiving a Certificate of Outstanding Performance from Air Commodore M. McCormack, Commander of Exercise Pitch Black 2026, in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the exercise.
