Our latest addition to the M-ADAA members list, CDR Segar Muniandy RMN will be joining the Visiting Navy Fellow Program at the Sea Power Centre Australia (SPC-A) and the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
“The VNF Program seeks to foster people-to-people links and mutual understanding between the RAN and Asian and Pacific Islands navies. It is hoped that VNFs will develop a deeper understanding of the maritime security and strategic challenges confronting their own countries, as well as an appreciation of Australia’s maritime interests and strategy.
During the twelve-week research residency at SPC-A (located in Fyshwick, Canberra), the VNF will write a research paper under the supervision of SPC-A staff on a mutually agreed topic, to produce an original research in English on a sea power or naval topic that will benefit both the VNF’s home country navy and the RAN. The VNF will conduct calls on senior RAN service personnel, Australian policymakers, and maritime security experts, among other relevant stakeholders. The VNF will also be offered opportunities to attend academic conferences and official functions related to SPC-A’s core program of maritime security research. “
The RMN has identified CDR Segar Muniandy as their candidate for the 2018 program.
