As we welcome the new year, we also welcome new M-ADAA members who will be the Malaysian Seconded Officers to various Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force units in FY 2018/19.
Under the auspices of the MAJDP, Australia and Malaysia maintain a Seconded Officer programme. Seconded Officers are generally employed on a reciprocal basis and primarily at training establishments in instructional roles. Through this program, foreign military personnel have the opportunity to work in an ADF unit for a period of approximately two years. While specific objectives may vary depending on the position, in general terms the Seconded Officer Program has the policy objective of developing personal and professional relationships, and mutual understanding, between members of Defence and their foreign counterparts.
