Exercise Haringgaroo a great success.
The closing ceremony for Exercise Haringgaroo was conducted near Ipoh, Perak Province, in very wet conditions on 21 September. The exercise saw soldiers from Malaysia’s 2nd Royal Ranger Regiment and Australia’s 2nd Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment training for light infantry operations in the mountainous jungle of Perak. The ceremony was presided over by the commander of Malaysia’s 2nd Infantry Division, Major General Dato’ Mohd Ramli bin Jafaar, and commander of Australia’s 3rd Brigade, Brigadier Chris Field. Both commanders complimented the endurance and professionalism of the exercising troops, as well as describing the importance of interoperability between our forces in today’s unpredictable security environment.
